Puri: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) technical team after inspecting of the Garbha Gruha (sanctum sanctorum) of the Jagannath Temple here on Tuesday said the structure is safe.
An ASI senior official said the construction work is almost complete. The remaining work can be completed within a span of two months after getting a go ahead from the temple administration.”
Earlier on June 2, technical core committee head NC Pal had informed that ongoing repairs and conservation of the Jagamohan is almost over. Fixing of capitol stone, columns and vertical beams have been completed.
As many as 16 steel frames have been reinforced to the four columns and 16 box frames also been stacked below the stone beams. A total of 95 tonne stainless steel have been used in the repair works, said Pal.
