Ravi Shukla, the famous Indian singer is elated to be performing again in Rourkela! Before he shot to fame as the winner of India’s most powerful talent hunt, Amul Star Voice of India in 2009, Ravi began his musical career at a show in the heart of Rourkela and he is super excited to be back again.
Speaking before his event in the city, Ravi said, “Rourkela is so special to me! It reminds me of my roots as a young and budding performer and how my efforts and the love of my fans has boosted me up.”
Ravi Kaushal Shukla (born November 4, 1983 in Kolkata, West Bengal) is an Indian singer song writer,live show artist and entertainer, who was was crowned the winner of Amul Star Voice of India Season 2, on Star Plus’s hit show Voice of India in 2009.
The show made Ravi an overnight music sensation. His vocal gift and his stage presence have catapulted him to the spotlight of Indian music. Post the win, Ravi has been travelling the length and breadth of India for shows for awards nights and other functions. He especially loves visiting parts of India he has never seen before. Ravi says, “The love and gratification that an artist gets in a small city is just unmatchable. It’s so gratifying that it inspires you to go back home and put in that extra effort to push yourself till the edge. This is what I live for… the love from the audience.”
Post winning the Amul Star Voice of India 2, Ravi has featured as guest artist for shows like Bhaaratki Shaan, ChoteUstaad Season 2 and Mummy ke Superstars. He has been associated with the leading channels of India such as Sony Life OK, Star Plus and Colors where he has lent his voice to various superhit television shows like Tum Dena SaathMera, BadeyAcheyLagtey Hain, Hanuman, Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Haiand many more.
Ravi got introduced to the music fraternity in 2004, where he was selected in the show, Indian Idol, in its first season. Though he did not win, it was a notable turning point in his career. There onward, the talented singer continued to progress higher and he started taking singing lessons from a renowned vocalist Pandit Jayanto Bose in June 2005. A year later, he went on a cross country tour to the USA for seven months.
Ravi was a student in the first batch of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa Academy in Mumbai (2007). Veteran Director, Producer Gajendra Singh the producer of Voice of India and the founder of the eminent Vocal Academy had discovered Ravi in Voice of India Season 1 and offered him a place in the prestigious first batch of the Institution.
