Bhubaneswar: 5500 Houses damaged in Odisha due to Cyclone Bulbul. 6 districts severely affected. Large number of trees uprooted affecting road communication & power. 04 persons injured. Approximately 3 Lakh Hectares crop area affected.
Out of total nearly 16 lakh consumers affected due to Cyclone Bulbul in six affected districts, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj & Jajpur, electricity supply has been restored to 15 lakh consumers & the rest will be completed in one or two days says SRC.
As per initial report, about 5500 houses have been damaged due to Cyclone Bulbul. Nearly 3 lakh hectare of crop area affected out of which about 2 lakh hectare suffered crop loss to extent of 33% & above; detailed assessment expected to be completed in a week says SRC Pradeep Jena.
8218 persons accommodated in 108 relief camps. 20 ODRAF, 6 NDRF & 226 Odisha Fire Teams were deployed which helped in faster restoration of road & power connections.
