Bhubaneswar: Five girls from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have been selected in Indian Rugby Team to participate in the World Games Rugby Sevens (Under-18 Girls) to be held in the Stade Georges Carpentier, Paris, France from 8th to 9th July 2017. The players are: Sumitra Naik, Basanti Pangi, Rajani Sabar, Soni Mandangi and Lija Sardar. All of them are students of +3, 1st year Arts of KISS.
Earlier, a training-cum-selection camp for World Games Rugby was organized by Indian Rugby Football Association for wider group of Under-18 Girls from 24th to 29th May 2017 at CCFC, Kolkata. Six girls from KISS were selected for the camp. Mr. Rajkishore Murmu, Rugby Trainer accompanied the players.
It is a matter of pride that five out of 12 players in Indian Girls’ Rugby team are from a single institute, KISS. Besides value based education, KISS provides professional grade coaching in sports to its students, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS said, while congratulating and wishing the girls success in World Games Rugby.
