Miami: 48th Annual OSA Convention will be held on a cruise to the Bahamas and Nassau Island in Bahamas from June 30th thru July 3rd, 2017. The convention is unique this year as OSA is hosting it on a cruise for the first time. OSA members from Bahamas will be hosting an OSA convention for the very first time. The convention on the cruise ship, the Enchantment of the Seas will have varied food, entertainment, and other activities and will be the venue to showcase our rich Odia culture and heritage with the rest of the world.
OSA will have cultural program in the beautiful 2000-seating Orpheum theater where multiple chapters will showcase their talents with Odia music and dance set to our convention’s theme ‘Ajaye Jatra’ and the program will be open to 3000+ fellow travelers to join us in the cultural festivities. On this occasion, OSA will unveil its Annual Souvenir “Urmi”. The chief guest for the inaugural event will be Dr. S. K Dash. Children will showcase their talents in various cultural segments like Subrina Biswal Performing Arts Competition, Odissi Champu Chhanda, OSA Got Talent, Odia Speech and Vocabulary. The evenings will be rounded out with Mehfil for adults. On Nassau Island, Odia families in the Bahamas will be hosting their friends from the mainland. There will be Odia Bhoji and Odia Kabita Patha on the beach.
This year’s convention will be a unique experience for everyone. People from US, Canada and families visiting from India will be part of the event. OSA officials President Sushant Satpathy, VP Sulochana Patnaik, Secretary Saradakanta Panda and Treasurer Siddharth Behera along with core group of volunteers Anil Patanik, Kuku Das, Parag Mishra, Dhirendra Kar, Srikant Sarangi, Pratap Rout and Jagannath Patra are organizing this convention.
