Khurda : To promote the importance of sports in the curriculum and carry forward the GOI initiative of Khelo India for reviving the sports culture in India at the grass-root level, Executive Director Shri P C Choubey presided as Chief Guest of 34th Annual sports meet concluding ceremony at Banguru Siksha Sadan, Malipada in Khurda district. On the occasion, Mr. P. C. Choubey congratulated all the participants for their commendable efforts and also distributed prizes & certificates.
Interacting with students, Shri P C Choubey highlighted that the importance of sports and fitness in one’s life is invaluable. He said, “Playing sports inculcates team spirit, develops strategic & analytical thinking, leadership skills, goal setting and risk taking. A fit and healthy individual leads to an equally healthy society and strong nation.”
Paying tribute to the “The father of Nation” Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, Mr P C Choubey urged everyone present to gratefully remember Mahatma Gandhi and follow the paths of truthfulness and non-violence as shown by him.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr P C Choubey reminded everyone about Gandhiji’s efforts of uplifting the khadi and village industries and how it leads to real Swarajya. He further encouraged all to contribute to fulfil his dreams.
Also on the occasion, Under CSR 2018-19; Indian Oil, South Eastern Region Pipelines conducted need assessment camp in Khordha District. Identified Divyangjans (PWDs) have been provided with aids and assistive devices – Wheel Chairs, Tricycles, Hearing Aids, Walking Stick etc. and also distributed School bags along with Geometry box, Pen & notebook to school students .
