Report by Nishapati Nayak, Koraput: The Central University of Odisha successfully conducted the Entrance Examination on 1st and 2nd July, 2017 in 22 centres at 12 places in Odisha and its vicinity for admission to various programmes of the University. These centers are Baleswar, Baripada, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Bhawanipatana, Bhubanewswar, Keonjhar, Koraput, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Sunabeda and Kolkata. This year the University provided bus service from national highway to university campus to the students appearing the Entrance Examination at the University campus. Total four numbers of buses were deployed. The Entrance Examination was conducted smoothly without any untoward incident.
This is the second time the University conducted such Entrance Examination in a systematic and peaceful manner. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty expressed his satisfaction for peaceful conduct of the Examination in various centres. He said “the University stands for equity and excellence in higher education. It wants the student aspirants in the region to have the exposure to the best at the national level”.
Result of the entrance examination and declaration of merit list and waiting list will be published on 8th July, 2017. Ranks of MBA entrance examination for personal interview/ viva voce will be published on 8th July, 2017. Date of viva-voce for MBA/ Research Programmes will be held from 11th to 13th July, 2017 and result will be declared accordingly.
Date of admission for merit list candidates of Bachelor of Education is 17thJuly, 2017 and wait list candidates is 18thJuly, 2017. Date of admission for merit list and waiting list candidates (for 5yr-Integrated M.Sc. in Mathematics & BCA) is 18th July, 2017.
For admission to M.A in Economics, English, Hindi, Journalism and Mass Communication, Odia, Sanskrit, Sociology; M.Sc. in Anthropology, Applied Statistics and Informatics, Bio-Diversity and Conservation of Natural Resources, date of admission is 19thJuly, 2017 for merit list and waiting list candidates.
5 marks of bonus point will be awarded to the candidates of the scheduled area to take admission in different programmes. This will be in accordance with the admission notification.

Central University of Orissa, Koraput was established by the Act of Parliament in 2009. The University has its permanent campus of 430.9 acres at Sunabeda. It has fully furnished separate boy’s and girl’s hostels, Library facilities, and transport facilities, computer centers with internet, student’s health care, canteen and ambulance service.
