Jharsuguda: Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda kick-started the observance of 48th National Safety Week inside the plant premises, on the theme for this year, ‘Cultivate & Sustain a Safety Culture for Building the Nation’ with a Safety Rally which saw a participation of nearly 600 employees and associate partners.
Mr. GG Pal, VP & Head – Smelter II, Mr. Cho Yiu Chan, Head – HSE & Sustainability, and other members of the company’s senior management led the rally which was conducted at important locations inside the plant premises to create awareness among the employees and other stakeholders about the importance of safety at the workplace.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. GG Pal said, “Safety should not only be a top priority for every individual but the habit of practicing safety must be inculcated in our value framework. Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda believes in zero tolerance and therefore, is persistently vigilant towards unsafe practices and aims at making our workplace absolutely safe”.
The safety rally was first in a series of events which have been planned for instilling a safety-first work culture through structured interventions with employees and associate partners, led by the HSE & Sustainability Dept. of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda.
