Bhubaneswar : To provide preventive as well as curative measures to the domestic animals of mines periphery villages, One Livestock Health Camp was organised by Utkal Alumina at Jogiparitunda village in joint collaboration with Veterinary & Animal Husbandry deptt of Govt. of Odisha. Total 560 cattle were vaccinated against Foot & Mouth Disease in this camp. Apart from Vaccination the diarrhoea affected cattle were also treated by Veterinary doctor.
Six Castrations also conducted in the programme. Total 43 Farmers of Jogiparitunda and Dandabad villages were benefitted out of this camp. The farmers were supplied with Vitamins and Minerals to supplement the growth of their cattles. During this camp the farmers were oriented on proper rearing practices of their livestock and informed about the preventive measures to protect their animals from the bacterial infections.
Dr. Sushil Kumar Tapno, Block Veterinary Officer of Kashipur along with his team extended his co-operation to make this camp successful. Sincecattle rearing is an alternative source of income for the farming community of the mines area people the camp got overwhelmed response and the villagers appreciated this effort of Utkal Alumina.
