New Delhi: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Inaugurated Chromium 2019, a conference organised by the International Chromium Development Association and shared his views on the sustainable development of chromium industry and the vibrancy of Indian economy.
Chromium is important for the production of stainless steel. Nearly 70% of total chromium produced is used in production of stainless steel which has many specialised uses, including in sectors like space, defence and oil & gas.
It is noteworthy that Odisha accounts for more than 95% of India’s chromium ore reserve. The state has the potential to cater to the domestic and global demand on a much larger scale and offers huge potential for large-scale domestic employment generation said Minister Pradhan.
Under the leadership of Hon. PM Narendra Modi , India is on a steady path to become a USD 5 trillion economy, with emphasis on both ease of doing business as well as on ease of living. Our Govt. has been making efforts to make India an attractive investment destination for businesses by providing investment friendly governance. Political stability, predictable policies & a diverse market makes India an attractive investment destination for global investors said Minister Pradhan.
Indian steel sector is becoming more vibrant, efficient, environment-friendly and globally competitive, supported by the various policy measures taken by our Government and the entrepreneurial spirit of the industry said Minister Pradhan.
