Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the State Government to complete the appointment process Lokayukta within two months.

A three-judge Bench of the apex court issued the order after the State Government submitted an affidavit on the matter before the court earlier in the day.

Following the notice, the State’s General Administration (GA) Department had on Saturday issued a gazette notification on formation of a search committee for Lokayukta appointment.

As per the notification, a selection committee would be formed under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for appointment of the chairperson and members of the Lokayukta.
