Srusti Academy of Management wins Entrepreneurship Competition

Bhubaneswar: Students of Srusti Academy of Management have won all three awards at an entrepreneurship competition, BiZZFESTRIX-2K18, the annual management fest of Gandhi Institute for Technology. Different teams participated from Srusti Academy in Business Plan Competition with their B plans and won all three top prizes competing with other leading colleges of the city. Many teams presented their business plans. The innovative plans included ideas pertaining to low-cost waste management, agribusiness management, organic products, packaged tender coconut water, Customized T-shirt printing, Tribal Art, Paper bags and agro-tourism. Participants came from different colleges, Vivekananda Institute of Technology, GITA, DRIEMS, BIITM, College of Engineering and Technology and Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan etc. Teams competed on the parameters of product, service, feasibility, and viability.

First prize was won by “Odishi Darbar” which is one of its kind platforms which connects tribal artists and promotes their art worldwide. Odishi Darbar is founded by Ms. Guddi Barik with co-founder Mr. Prasanta Kumar Nayak.

Second Prize was won by “Green Hearts” which is an environment-friendly start-up aiming to manufacture and market paper Bags to reduce the use of plastic bags. They are also empowering women in the rural areas by providing them employment. Green Heart is founded by Mr. S. Biswajit with co-founder Ms. Rituparna Nayak.

Third Prize was for “Croptarts” which is a start-up aiming customized T-shirt Printing business by using environment-friendly printers and colors. They are aiming to provide cost-effective Customized T-Shirts. Croptarts is founded by Mr. Satish Senapati and co-founded by Mr. Sarthak Das.

Mr. Sushobhit Sinha who has recently joined Srusti as an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Operation along with the additional charge of Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Cell strongly believes that young students of Srusti are dynamic and they will strengthen the campus startup culture.

Chairman of Srusti Academy Er Saroj Kumar Sahoo shared on how the academy has taken several initiatives for students and faculty members to collaborate in developing a campus startup culture. He further adds ‘”this way our students will contribute to the Startup India mission of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik by creating startups to fill the need in the market and social development”.
