Odisha: Puri Srimandir’s Ratna Bhandar needs to be repaired informed SJTA chief

Bhubaneswar: Puri Srimandir’s Ratna Bhandar needs repair; next steps to be finalised after ASI submits final report on inspection within 7 days says SJTA chief Pradeep Jena after temple managing committee meeting in Bhubaneswar. Affidavit to be filed tomorrow in Orissa HC regarding Jagamohan repair works, informs chief administrator of SJTA Pradeep Jena.

It should be noted that a 16-member team conducted inspection of the Ratna Bhandar in Jagannath temple here today and the process ended smoothly.

The team entered the mysterious Ratna Bhandar excluding Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi, who was not allowed to enter as he did not wear cotton gamuccha. He stayed at Nata Mandap inside the shrine.

The team members made a very quick inspection and examined only two rooms of outer Ratna Bhandar and found crack on the wall and roof. However, the team members did not enter the inner side of Ratna Bhandar.

The inspection report will be submitted to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and further initiative will be taken following it.

Meanwhile, the core committee member GC Mitra suffered minor injury on his leg after he stumbled upon something while entering into the Ratna Bhandar. He was taken to ASI office following the incident.
