Mumbai: Singer-composer Bappi Lahiri dies in Mumbai hospital, says doctor. Bappi Lahiri is known for delivering popular songs in several films of late 1970s-80s like Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer & Sharaabi.
Bappi Lahiri was suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea & recurrent chest infection. He was hospitalised in Criticare Hospital, Juhu for 29 days with this. He recovered well & was discharged home on Feb 15: His doctor Dr Deepak Namjoshi.
Bappi Lahiri has composed songs for movies such as Disco Dancer, Himmatwala, Sharaabi, Adventures of Tarzan, Dance Dance, Satyamev Jayate, Commando, Aaj Ke Shahenshah, Thanedaar, Numbri Aadmi, Shola Aur Shabnam, among others. The singer-composer’s first big Bollywood hit score was Aamir Khan’s father Tahir Hussain’s Zakhmee.
He last composed the song Bhankas was for the 2020 movie Baaghi 3.
