New Delhi: Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is a well-known car enthusiast and owns a range of cars. Sachin Tendulkar is also the brand ambassador of BMW India and is frequently spotted driving around in a BMW car. Recently, Tendulkar was seen behind the wheel of the recently launched BMW M2 with a fan YouTuber and entrepreneur Pranav Panpalia.
The video posted by Pranav shows Tendulkar taking hot laps around the Budh International Circuit, the mecca for automotive enthusiasts, which is the only Formula One track in India. In the video Sachin Tendulkar is riding M2 and sharing with viewers about different BMW cars he owns. Associated with BMW for a very long time, Sachin’s garage is full of BMW cars. Sachin has customized the BMW i8 Coupé and has put different colors on it. He also mentioned that BMW i8 is one of his favorites and he often takes it out for driving pleasure. Sachin often takes out the i8 on Sundays to drive around the city.
Tendulkar started with a warm-up lap followed by two hot laps. The fastest lap time set by him is around 2:20 minutes, which is quite quick. The fastest lap time around the BIC in a car is 1:59 minutes and it was done in a Ferrari 458 Challenge, which is not a road legal car. The ex-cricketer tried to set up a fast lap and said whoever breaks the lap timing set by him will get a gift.
Launched last year in Indian market, BMW M2 is priced at Rs.79.9 lakh. The BMW M2 Competition is imported as CBU in India. It is a two-door coupe and is the entry-level M-Series car. It drives power from a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder in-line engine that generates a massive 405 Bhp at 6,250 rpm and a peak torque of 550 Nm between 2,350 – 5230 rpm. BMW M2 comes with three driving modes and gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The BMW M2 is quite quick and can do 0-100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. It also gets a launch control system and can do a top speed of 280 km/h.
