Restoration Work in Full flow-Commend the Relentless Service: Odisha Energy Minister

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Energy Minister Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra commended each hand that is relentlessly working towards the restoration of power in areas
affected by Cyclone Amphan. He hailed Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik for being a visionary when it comes to cyclone preparedness and thanked him for
leading the State in such crisis.

In a self-shot video, Minister Captain Mishra says, “About 26-27 lakhs consumers of CESU, 16 lakhs of NESCO and two lakhs of SOUTHCO were affected due to Cyclone Amphan. By last night itself power was restored for all kinds of essential services.” Explaining he said, “Reconnection becomes tough when such a huge number of people get affected. However, our preparedness in prepping strategically before and during the cyclone helped us. This is the first time when work began from sunrise.”
He said that about 80 per cent of CESU connections have been restored.

Restoration work at NESCO is going on at full speed and all manpower has been now directed to the most affected areas. With 158 gangs at work, the department has targeted to restore power in 90-95 per cent within two days and a full restoration within a week. Minister Captain Mishra lauded the Fire services, ODRAF and NDRF
who doing all that they can to bring back normalcy in the State.
