Bhubaneswar: In the occasion of Odisha Library Academy Webinar-2 on Research Data Management held on 23.05.2020, 11 AM, Professor ARD Prasad, former Professor & Head, Documentation Research Training Centre (DRTC), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Bangalore was joined as the speaker of the webinar. Professor Prasad elaborate how to manage Research Data of a researcher. During his Presentation he said “Research Data should be Opened for Scholarly Community”.
In this eve more than 1000 participants were connected live with the session through YouTube, however within 1 hour the video has been watched more than 2500 viewers. Dr. Bibhuti Bhusan Sahoo, Dr. Sada Bihari Sahu coordinate the session and started with welcome address and introduce the speaker. The Session was chaired by OLA President Dr, Banamber Sahoo and Concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Bijoy Ketan Panda. Dr. Satyaranjan Sahoo, Mr. Niranjan Mohapatra, Mr. Abinash Das were helped in this online session. Dr. DB Ramesh, Dr. Nihar K. Patra, Dr. Sushant Pathy were invited guests of the Webinar.
Odisha Library Academy (OLA) is an association of Library and Information Science Professionals of Odisha. OLA is registered Organisation under societies registration Act XII, 1860. The academy holds major role in education, training of young professionals as well as in the digital library movement in Odisha.
OLA has started a study circle in the earliest of this year in February 2020, due to COVID-19 lockdown unable to organised its events. The young professionals of OLA planning to organised online training programmes and started OLA webinar series. Till yet the academy has successfully completed two webinars. Dr. Banamber Sahoo, president of OLA said this webinar series will be continued even after the end of COVID-19 lockdown. Because online webinar connects more participants from India and abroad than a in campus seminar or conference.
