Chandigarh: Punjab School Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla today handed over appointment letters to 34 newly-appointed employees in the education department. During the brief program held at Punjab Bhawan, only five youngsters have been invited physically and remaining 29 employees will be getting appointment letters virtually. All 34 employees have been inducted in the department on various posts on compassionate grounds which included 13 clerks, 3 SLAs, 11 peons, 6 chowkidars and a sweeper.
Addressing the newly appointed employees, Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that though the loss of the deceased employees could not be compensated but by giving regular appointments to the family members of the deceased employees the government has fulfilled its promise of providing respectable means of livelihood to the dependents. He expressed hope that these newly inducted officials would live up to the expectation of the government with their hard work and honesty towards work.
The cabinet minister said that the department speedily processed the applications of family members of the deceased employees and the cases were cleared by the Punjab Government within months after receiving applications from the families. He added that the appointment letters in remaining cases of compassionate grounds would be given soon.
Prominent amongst those present at the occasion included DPI Secondary Sukhjit Pal Singh.
