Primary health check-up Centre inaugurated by Gopalpur Port

Chhatrapur: To ensure improved health and well-being of communities, Gopalpur Ports Limited (GPL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing a newly constructed primary health check-up Centre building was inaugurated by Shri Vijay Amruta Kulange (IAS), Collector and District Magistrate, Ganjam in the presence of Capt. Sandeep Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gopalpur Port and Dr. Subash Chandra Sahu, Port Medical Officer at Takiria Berhampur on 1st Dec 2021.

 

Inaugurating the health check-up Centre, Shri Vijay Amruta Kulange (IAS), Collector and District Magistrate, Ganjam said the primary health check-up Centre was a felt need of the residents of the village as well as those in the nearby hamlets. All age group people in the nearby villages will be benefitted from this health check-up Centre.

 

Attending the inaugural ceremony, Capt. Sandeep Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gopalpur Port said “We are happy to contribute back to the community under our CSR platform. The health camp is our step and support towards creating a healthier society and lifestyle”.

 

The healthcare services include free diagnosis and checkup, treatment, counselling, health, education and awareness to villagers. Besides, the referral cases will get treatment at the nearest government hospitals. It will provide all essential services to all age groups including consultation with specialists.

 

This health Centre serves a population of approximately 10,000 families of nearby villages covering Kanamana, Matikhalo, Arjeepalli etc of Gopalpur Port peripheral area.

 

Among others S. Chakrapani Reddy, Sarpanch Kanapana Panchayat, Rashmita Behera, Nominee, local intellectuals and other port officials were present during the inauguration ceremony.

 

It should be noted here that Gopalpur Port has undertaken significant work under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. A number of projects involving development of infrastructure for the local community have been executed. Gopalpur Port has introduced an innovative water ATM concept where for a token Rs 0.50p /litre RO filtered water from AquaGuard machines is dispensed to locals.

 

A 5kms road stretch in Arjeepalli Village has no lights causing difficulties to villages. Street lights were installed on this 5kms road by GPL providing much sought after relief to Arjeepalli. Last year, a Boundary wall in the cremation ground at Bata Chatrapur was built at the request of the locals, a MoU has been signed for a Vision Care Center, support to local sports tournaments are routinely provided by Gopalpur port.

 

At Arjeepalli UP School, renovation works such as repair of toilets, classrooms and school building were done as well as Children play areas were provided to bring much required relief to the school.
