President of India to preside over two-day Conference of Governors and Lt. Governors on November 23-24 at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi: The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, will preside over a two-day Conference of Governors and Lt. Governors on November 23 and 24, 2019 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This will be the 50th such Conference to be held in Rashtrapati Bhavan and the third Conference to be presided over by President Kovind.

The two-day Conference will discuss important thematic issues in various sessions. It includes tribal issues, reforms in agriculture, Jal Jeevan Mission, new education policy for higher education and governance for ease of living.

Governors and Lt. Governors of all States and Union Territories will attend the Conference. The Vice President; Prime Minister; Union Ministers of Home Affairs; Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare; Law and Justice; Human Resource Development; Tribal Affairs; and Jal Shakti; the Vice Chairman and the CEO of NITI Aayog and other senior officials from various Ministries will also participate.

A special session on Union Territories will be held on November 22, 2019 to discuss various schemes and achievements of UTs. Apart from Lt. Governors/Administrators of Union Territories, it will be attended by the Union Minister for Home Affairs, Cabinet Secretary and other senior officials.
