Earlier in the morning Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Sunday felicitated the descendants of 16 families associated with armed rebellion against British colonialism well known as Paika rebellion of 1817 and other freedom struggles of Odisha at Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
The descendants of Jayee Rajguru, Baxi Jagabandhu, Dinabandhu Mohapatra, Veer Surendar Sai, Madhav Singh, Chakhi Khuntia, Chakra Bisoi, Raghunath Mohanty, Dibakar Parida, Lakhman Nayak, Dama Subudhi Mangaraj, Samant Madhav Chandra Routray, Preetibas Patsani, Rendo Majhi and Lakhmi Indira Panda were felicitated during the programme.
