PM Narendra Modi condoles death of Sonny Mehta

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condoles death of Sonny Mehta. “Sonny Mehta would be fondly remembered by countless avid readers across the world. He endeared himself to many thanks to his erudite & knowledgable personality. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to Gita Ji, you(Naveen Patnaik), your family & his admirers,” tweets PM Modi.

The 77- year- old Mehta, husband of well-known writer Gita Mehta and brother-in-law of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, served as the chairman of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group in New York. His father Amrik Singh Mehta was among the first diplomats of independent India. Mehta died on Monday at the age of 77.
