Bhubaneswar: In order to continue its transparent mode of allotment of reality-related properties, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) today started the process for e-auctioning of 22 plots in Jaydev Vihar and Chandrasekharpur areas of the city. The actual auction for these plots will happen between 11 am and 5 pm on November 15.
The most-sought after areas in the State Capital will be having 10 and 12 plots respectively in Jaydev Vihar and Chandrasekharpur and their sizes will vary from 1,750 square feet to 5,400 square feet, while offset prices, as per size and locality would vary between Rs 61 lakh and Rs 1.29 crore. It can be noted here that all the plots, belonging to the General Administration Department would go for auction after the former transferring the plots to BDA, formally.
As per the document uploaded in the website of BDA, the offline selling of brochure started today at 11 am and registration with all due procedures will continue up to 11.59 pm till November 6. After scrutiny and all other statutory requirements as per the norms laid down by BDA the plots will go for e-auction from 11 am on November 15.
The e-auction of the 22 plots would be the second event following the first-ever e-auction of property in the state when on August 22 last year BDA started the process to make the auctioning transparent and based on IT tools as the 19 higher-income group duplexes near the airport were targeted for the high-end buyers.
Explaining details an official of BDA from the allotment section said “after buying the brochure offline or taking the online route, one aspirant has to get a Unique Authentication Number (UAN) following Digital Signature Certificate and other requirements. There will be participation fees of Rs 2,000 for the applicant to be included in the race. After that the applicants would be required to deposit the earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs 5 lakh each for single plot. But once the details of the applicant’s are checked then he/she would be able to try the luck for the auctioning process. However, one intending to go for multiple plots, need to deposit money for each registration and EMD.
Though the official process of auctioning is likely to end at 5 pm on November 15, if one auctioneer sets another higher price just five minutes prior to the closing time, the auction process would continue till it ends.
In order to make the e-auctioning process hassle free the development authority has also uploaded a bidder’s manual in their website from where the future bidders would get tips from. They can also talk to the allotment officials and experts from the IT firm looking after the e-auction process. However, all the transactions would be safe as the auctioneers will always use their code names and no real names would come up during the bidding process.
