Bhubaneswar: IndiaSkills2018, India’s largest skill competition at the national level, India Skill 2018 concluded at Aerocity Grounds, New Delhi today.
For the first time, 33 young men and women from Odisha, after passing the state and regional level competitions took part in the prestigious national skill championship.
In the closing ceremony of IndiaSkills2018, Odisha won a total number of 19 medals among that 4 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals. In addition the state has also for two commandments for Excellence. With the total medal tally, Odisha ranks No.2 among all Indians State, behind Maharastra by just one medal.
Among the 33 participants Anup Kumar Bharti, Hemant Tudu, Jyana Ranjan Muduli and Aswath Narayan won gold medal in Restaurant Services, CNC Turning, M-CAD & Water Technology trade respectively. Kanhu Charan Sahoo, Soumya Ranjan Das, Sanjay Pradhan, Sudhansu Sekhar Sahu, Xenophone Das, Sumit Kumar Sahoo, Akhil Kumar Senapati and samnath Khotei won Silver medal in Brick laying, CNC Milling, Electrical installation, Health & Social service, M-CAD, Plastic
Die Engineering and Water Technology trade respectively. Similarly Sashank Raj, Subhankar Das, Chakradhar Sahu, Subhalaxmi Subudhi, Aditya Sahu and Rishi Mukherjee won Bronze medals in Web Design & Development, Bakery, Electrical Installation, Patisserie & Confectionary, and Plastic & Die Engineering and in Water Technology trade respectively.
The winners will undergo best-in-class industry training for the WorldSkills International Competition in Kazan, Russia in August 2019. Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik will felicitate the participants on 11th October, 2018 in the auditorium of Institute of Minerals and Material Technology, Bhubaneswar.

Mission cum CEO, OSDA, Rajesh Prabhakar Patil and Jt. Secretary-cum-OSD to Chairman, OSDA, Pinaki Patnaik were also accompanying the team.

Participants from 27 states in India and a delegation from Russia participated in the competition which was the biggest showcase of skilled youth in India. More than 400 participants performed their talent across 46 skills, 10 traditional skill and 10 demo skills.
