Report by Badal Tah; Rayagada: Famously known as Loka kabi or People’s poet and Padmasri awardee Sri Haladhar Nag was honoured at Rayagada by State Resource Centre for Adult and Continuing Education (SRC), Rayagada at Town Hall, Rayagada. On this occasion a series of books and magazines were also released namely Maheswari Puran written by Padmasri Haladhar Nag, Mo Gaon Phulkani by Sri Akula Bonagola, Freedom Fighter Baga Pujari by Dr. Basanti Mohanty. A magazine for neo-literates named Alasi Phula’s maiden issue also got released on this occasion.
In the facilitation ceremony, Prof. Jatin Nayak, noted translator and Mr. Sangram Jena, Odisha Sahitya Academy Awardee and editor of Nisanta magazine spoke on “Role of Literature in Development and Social Change”. Padramsri Haladhar Nag narrated on his struggle in his entire life as a poet, selection of character in his writing, reciting some poems, experience during award given by Hon’ble President in Rastrapati Bhawan and about his writing.
Mr. Akula Banagola, Dr. Basanti Mohanty also spoke vividly about their books.
The meeting and felicitation programme were presided over by Mr. Achyut Das, Chairman SRC and coordinated by Dr. Chandan Ku. Singh, Director, SRC. and Dr. Narendra Mishra. Mr. Susanta Nayak, Editor, Panchabati, Mr. Badal Tah, Senior Journalist and Social activist, Mr. Asutosh Prasad Das, lecturer, Mrs. Vidya Das, Jamunalal Bajaj Awardee and Joint Director, Agragamee, Mr. Braja Sundar Nayak, Sr Advocate & Ex-Bar Council President, Mr. Damburu Patnaik, noted poet, Mr. Kedar Nath Panda, Sr. Advocate & Founder, Rayagada Nagarika mancha, Mrs. Sumani Jhodia, Eminent Social & Tribal Activist, Mr. Mohan Nayak, Sr Advocate, Mr. Pramod Das, Secretary, OPDSC and a number of writers, social activists and advocates were present and participated.
