Odisha Govt to introduce Skill Literacy Programme in SSD High Schools

Bhubaneswar: Department of ST & SC Development, Minorities and Backward
Classes Welfare and Odisha Skill Development Authority are collaborating
to introduce Skill literacy in the High Schools of SSD Department.

As part of the initiative the Skill Literacy Programme will be introduced in the schools to provide basic orientation to the students towards skilling. High Schools will be partnered with neighbouring ITIs and Polytechnics which will act as mentoring institutions. Career Counseling of the High School students will be taken up by the role models and teachers of the ITIs and Polytechnics. Efforts will be made to explore the options of studying in ITIs and Polytechnics as a career choice by the students of ST & ST communities.

An announcement to this effect was made in the ongoing Sargiful2019 celebrations. Sri Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Odisha Skill Development Authority Development Commissioners cum Additional Chief Secretary Suresh Kumar Mohapatra, Principal Secretary Smt. Ranjana Chopra ST&SC Dev. Department, Commissioner cum-Secretary, SD&TE Department Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director SCSTRTI Prof Dr A. B. Ota, Director (ST) Sachin Ramachandra Yadav addressed the students participating in Sargiful
on the closing ceremony today.
