Odisha govt sanctioned Rs 100 Cr to #UtkalUniversity for opening six centres of excellence

Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Pattnaik announced that the State govt has sanctioned Rs 100 Cr to Utkal University for opening six centres of excellence while inaugurating the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the varsity today.

Utkal University celebrated the inaugural event of its Platinum Jubilee closing ceremony on 23rd November, 2019. The august occasion was graced by the honorable Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik and was attended by other dignitaries like the Minister of Higher Education Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, Shri Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Odisha Skill Development, Member of Parliament, Dr Achyuta Samanta, Member of Parliament, Mrs. Sarsmista Sethi, MLA Bhubaneswar (North) Shri Sushant Rout and other dignitaries. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Soumendra Mohan Patnaik, Shri Dayanidhi Nayak, Registrar and the Chairperson, P.G Council Prof Sabita Acharya also graced the occasion.
Addressing the audience, the Chief Minister hailed the university’s glorious past by remembering its intellectual architects. He assured the government’s support to the university in all aspects to keep up its head high in the world.
The Minister of Higher Education, Dr Arun Sahoo spoke on the pivotal role of the Alumni of the university towards all round growth and development. He also congratulated all members of the University for their Contribution towards making this event possible in a very short duration. Shri Subroto Bagchi spoke that a university’s excellence lies with the potential teachers and their enthusiastic students.
The Vice Chancellor Prof S M Patnaik gave a very comprehensive view of the university apprising of the areas in which the university has achieved great success and highlighted the opening of new paths of cutting edge research at present.
