Bhubaneswar: After days of facing the wrath of Cyclone Fani, water restoration in the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of Cuttack, Khurda, Jatni, Bhubaneswar, Nimapara and Puri has been fully achieved.
According to available information, with the help of 214 heavy duty diesel generator sets, 339 water tankers and 1029 PVC tanks, the Public Health Engineering Organisation (PHEO) managed to restore the water supply.
Besides this, Puri and areas of Konark town have also been provided treated pipe water and normal water supply, respectively.
On the other hand, 108 heavy duty diesel generator sets, 145 water tankers and 600 PVC tanks, deployed in the capital city Bhubaneswar, served at least 10 lakh denizens in the aftermath of Cyclone Fani. Similarly, restoration work regarding water supply to Cyclone-hit areas was undertaken by the concerned authorities.
