Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt to distribute free sanitary pads to girl students of class VI to X under ‘Khusi’ programme. This was announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik . Over 17 lakh girl students to get benefit.
The state to provide free sanitary napkins to girl students from class VI to XII in government and aided schools in the State. “I am sure this step will go a long way in promoting health and hygiene among school going adolescent girls leading to higher retention in schools and greater empowerment of women, “said Patnaik. “ In addition to this we will also expand social marketing of sanitary napkins for women and girls in the community at subsidized rates,” CM Patnaik further added.
