Odisha Govt approved proposals of seven mega companies for establishment of port-based industries at Dhamra

Bhubanswar: The State Level Single Window Committee has approved proposals of seven mega companies for establishment of port-based industries at Dhamra in Bhadrak district.

The companies are Vedanta Aluminium Ltd, National Mineral Development Corporation, Welspun Orissa Steel Private Limited, Adani Wimar Limited, J Green Power Private Limited and Oceanic Shipyard Limited (two proposals).

Industries Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJD member Byomkesh Ray and additional questions of other members on Friday. He said the Dhamara Port Company Limited has been given 879.10 acres of Government land and 2029.40 acres of private land for establishment of port-based industries.

The Minister further informed that the Idco has been asked to hand over 212.720 acres of land for establishment of an industrial park at Chandbali.

The Adani Group and the Welspun Group have proposed to establish Private Industrial Estates. While the State Level Committee has given final approval to the Welspun Group, the Adani Group has got an in-principle approval.
