Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed electrification of all households in the state by Gandhi Jayanti this year. 47,655 villages out of 47,677 now electrified with only 22 villages left. Highlights from his review:
– Priority to complete electrification of 22,000 partially covered villages of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Balangir, Kandhamal & Gajapati districts
– Target to cover three districts every month; complete electrification in 28 lakh households in next 10 months
He directed Chief Secretary and all Collectors to review progress of the work with the respective agencies and ensure timely completion.
