Bhubneswar: Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) is the apex chamber in the state of Odisha comprising of 3 sectors of economy i.e, industry, trade and services. UCCI organized a mega exhibition, UCCI Expo-2017, which started on 1st April 2017 at IDCO Exhibition Ground, Bhubaneswar and on 4th April, 2017 UCCI Expo concluded the event.
Shri. Kalraj Mishra, Hon’ble Union Minister, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India graced the event as Chief Guest. He said MSME has become a challenge as well as opportunity for Odisha. We will be working towards eradicating unemployment and creating Odisha as a manufacturing hub. But it can only be possible by promoting small scale industries and start up is the new buzz for Odisha to focus on promoting of new ideas.
Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Union Minister, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India was the special guest of the evening. He was overjoyed and exclaimed that he has been the part of this program since 3 years and the way the expo is improving is impressive. We need to focus on ancillary fields and Odisha should come up with some policy where we can promote and set up MSME industries and factories in tribal areas.
Shri L.N. Gupta, IAS Principal Secretary, MSME Department, Govt. Of Odisha addressed the crowd saying UCCI Expo has become the best way to showcase our micro small and medium enterprises and create employment
Shri. Sannyas Behera, OAS (differently Abled) was felicitated during the valedictory ceremony. Along with some outstanding awardees like outstanding odia singer Smt. Susmita Das, Best performance in Medium scale industry Oriclean (P) Ltd. Best performance in Mega Scale Industry, Jindal Stainless Ltd., Best Performance in Large Scale Industry Orissa Stevedores Ltd.
In this 4 day Expo seminars and cultural prorammes were held. Bollywood singer, Krishna Beura was the star attraction for Opening ceremony. And the following 3 days had cultural program consisting Odissi Dance, Gotipua Dance, Musical night Bollywood artists, Bands and much more.
