Odisha: 3 Kendra vidyalaya students Killed In Car Accident at Koraput

Report by Nishapati Nayak; Koraput: In a shocking incident, a Plus II student of a private college here and three other students of Koraput Kendriya Vidyalaya, including two girls were killed after a tipper hit the car they were traveling in on National Highway 26 in Jeypore here on Tuesday.

As per sources, the Plus II student, identified as Rajeev Patra, was driving the car bearing registration number OD 10D 6578.

Rajeev was reportedly killed on the spot, while his brother Ruben Patra and two others who sustained grievous injuries were rushed to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput. The two girl students, S Jayashree and Niharika Bhanja, succumbed to the injuries at the hospital during treatment.

Till last reports came in, the other boy student Ruben’s condition further deteriorated and he died on way while being shifted to Visakhapatnam.

The KV trio had reportedly gone to school to collect their admit cards following which they attended a feast organised in the school. Later, Ruben’s brother Rajeev went to pick them from the school from where they headed to Jeypore to click some pictures.

When the four were returning home, their vehicle was hit by a tipper killing Rajeev on the spot.Police seized the vehicles and launched a probe after registering a case. Post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow, police said.
