Report by Badal Tah; Rayagada, September 16: Rayagada RTO Sri D K Dalai, during an usual check up of vehicles, found a suspected oil tanker with the suspected driver and produced both at Rayagada police station with a written report.
Local police led by SI S R Pati in the presence of witnesses and executive magistrate verified the Tata oil tanker and seized the said modified oil tanker having 1618.4 kg cannabis from the exclusive possession of accused Ram Kumar alias Shiv Sankar Kumar Yadav belonging to village-Jethuli, PS-Nadithara, Dist-Patna, State-Bihar, who is booked under section 20(b)(ii)(c)/25/29 of NDPS Act 1985.
Preliminary investigation revealed the Cannabis was procured from Vijayawada and was being transported to Patna, Bihar. Further investigation underway.
