NTPC Kaniha celebrates 33rd Foundation Day

Kaniha: With great zeal and vigour, NTPC Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, Odisha’s largest Power Station, celebrated its 33rd Foundation Day on June 2, 2021. The employees of the Station gathered at the Administrative Building, following Covid protocols, where Chief General Manager, Shri Sudip Nag unfurled the NTPC flag. This was followed by the NTPC Geet.

Following this, Shri Sudip Nag addressed all the employees through live webcasting. Speaking on the occasion and conveying his appreciation for the employees he especially congratulated the employees in O&M departments for working round the clock and showcasing excellence in power generation. The contribution of the other departments was also well appreciated for their contribution especially during these difficult times due to the pandemic.

He added, “With our aim to save our environment the station has been adopting various measures, like the ESP R&M works which have been completed in all the units in the station”.

Further, Shri Nag highlighted the contribution of the Station towards societal development. “I am proud that during the difficult times of the Covid19 pandemic our station, under its CSR initiative, has contributed by providing basic amenities to communities around the station.”

A special mention was made for the IT department for a commendable job in developing various applications in-house like the Touchless and Paperless fuel issuing system, online approval system for outstation movement of employees etc.”

In his concluding remarks, Shri Nag expressed his sincere gratitude to all the Corona Warriors, the doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, SSC, CISF personnel, private security, ICH, contract workers and the employees for serving at the frontline in the tough times of the pandemic.

To commemorate the occasion, employees of various departments along with Union and Association representatives, CISF personnel, and officials attended the ceremony following all the COVID-19 protocols.
