Bhopal : NITI Aayog member Shri Rameshchand today met Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the Mantralaya. During the meeting he praised the state government’s Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. He said that this scheme is among the priorities of the NITI Aayog. The Chief Minister said that the state government has implemented the scheme to ensure that the farmers get a fair price for their produce.
CM Shri Chouhan said that this scheme will ensure that farmers do not get a price lesser than the support price. If the market price is less than support price, then this scheme has a transparent system of getting the price difference amount in the account of the farmers. Contract farming is a solution to double the income of farmers which would be beneficial to small farmers. This is being encouraged in the state. He said that the state’s farmers want a fair price for their produce rather than loan waiving. There is provision for grant on storage by farmers in anticipation of a fair price. To double the income of farmers, animal husbandry, fish farming, agriculture, forestry and other activities is being linked to agriculture.
NITI Aayog member Shri Rameshchand said that all farmers will get the benefit of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana whereas loan waiving will benefit only 25 percent farmers. He said that Madhya Pradesh has created a record in the area of agricultural production. Now create innovations in agricultural marketing, contract farming, livestock development and dairy production areas and lead the state and the country.
State Planning Commission Vice Chairman Shri Chaitanya Kashyap, NITI Aayog Advisor Shri Anil Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri Deepal Khandekar, Principal Secretaries to the Chief Minister Shri Ashok Vernawal and Shri S.K. Mishra, Secretary to CM Shri Vivek Agrawal and other officials were present on the occasion.
