Paradeep : IFFCO Paradeep Unit was conducted Mock Drill at its premises & the scenario was “Ammonia Gas leakage from the gland of the valve in the discharge line of Ammonia transfer pump-B.”
On dtd.15.11.2017 at about 10.30 am, based on the information received from the Ammonia Control room, the shift In-charge informed the sectional head of Off-Sites & Utility department & subsequently, it was informed to the Unit Head Sri A.K.Panda and it was declared as On-Site Emergency. At that time it was alerted through all surrounding areas through sirens. Based on the information received by the Unit Head, he immediately rushed to the Ammonia Site and saw the leakage of Ammonia mock drill. The due maintenance was taken up immediately by maintenance team headed by Sandeep Srivastava,Sr.Manager and Sri R.K.Pandey, Jt.GM (Prod.),Site Incident Controller to arrest ammonia leakage and declared all cleaed. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF),Govt. of India along with IFFCO’s Fire & Safety department vacated the area and took all the precautionary measures and controlled the leakage. Officials of PPL,IOCL Refinery. IOCL Pipeline Division, IOCL Bottling division representatives (HSE) were also present during the mock drill conducted by the IFFCO Paradeep Unit and expressed their happiness the way IFFCO Fire & Safety team has efficiently handled in an emergent situation. NDRF team has also expressed satisfaction the way of IFFCO handled such a kind of situation.
Feedback was taken from the neighboring industries regarding the mock drill of IFFCO. In this occasion Sri Manoj Kumar Panda, Asst Director of F&B, Paradeep Zone was also present and addressed the gatherings. He expressed that IFFCO has efficiently handled the mock drill. All the senior officials along with Sri K.J.Patel, GM (Maint.),Sri J.P.Srivastava, JGM (E&S),Sh S.R.Maurya,DG.M(P&A), Sh G.C.Acharya,D.G.M(HR) ,Sh Prasanna Kumar Beura,PRO and Sri B.K.Sahoo, Asst. Commandant (NDRF) were present during the mock drill.
