MHA allowed movement of stranded persons such as students, migrant workers, tourists, pilgrims, etc. by special trains

New Delhi: Ministry of Home Affairs has today allowed movement of stranded persons such as students, migrant workers, tourists, pilgrims, etc. via rail as well. States and Railway Board will make necessary arrangements for the same. Railways will issue guidelines for sale of tickets and social distancing measures says MHA.

Special trains will be run from point to point on the request of both the concerned State Governments as per the standard protocols for sending and receiving such stranded persons. The Railways and State Govts shall appoint senior officials as Nodal Officers says Ministry of Railways.

Passengers to be screened by sending states&only those found asymptomatic will be allowed.Sending State Govts will have to bring passengers in batches to the designated Railway Station in sanitized buses following social distancing norms&other precautions says Ministry of Railways,

Ministry of Home Affairs has re-iterated to all States/UTs that, as per the consolidated revised guidelines on lockdown measures, no separate passes are required for through traffic of trucks and goods carriers, including empty trucks etc.
