New Delhi: 51st International Film Festival of India has announced a mega line-up of star-studded movie extravaganza for this edition of the festival. Delegates will be treated to a mix of premiers and showcases of select movies from across the world.
The festival will open with the Indian premier of the Cannes Best Actor Award winner Mads Mikkelsen starrer ‘Another Round’. The movie directed by Thomas Vinterberg is Denmark’s official entry to the Oscars.
World premiere of ‘Mehrunisa’ by Sandeep Kumar will happen mid-fest. The movie stars FarrukhJaffar and narrates the story of a woman’s lifelong dream.
Japanese movie Wife of a Spy directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa will bring the curtains down on this edition of the festival.

Background:
The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), founded in 1952, is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. Held annually, currently in the state of Goa, the festival aims at providing a common platform for the cinemas of the world to project the excellence of the film art; contributing to the understanding and appreciation of film cultures of different nations in the context of their social and cultural ethos; and promoting friendship and cooperation among people of the world. The festival is conducted jointly by the Directorate of Film Festivals (under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) and the state Government of Goa.
51st IFFI is being organised from 16th to 24th January, 2021 in Goa. This edition is being organised in a hybrid mode for the first time and will comprise of both online and in-person experience. The festival will be loaded with a line-up of famous movies with a total of 224 films from across the globe screened. This includes 21 non-feature films and 26 feature films under the Indian Panorama films section.
