Lanjigarh: Commemorating the World Health Day, Vedanta Limited Lanjigarh in association with Government Health department conducted a mega Health Camp on 7th April 2018, at Lanjigarh playground. 335 patients attended the camp for health check-up and received treatment as well as free medicines. 172 male, 112 female patients and 51 children visited the camp from more than 25 nearby villages like Lanjigarh, Chhatrapur, Kenduguda, Raghunathpur and Kashibadi. Dr. Mihir Ranjan Dash – Gynecologist, Dr. Bikash Praharaj – Pediatrics, Dr. Saroj Kanta Mishra – Orthopedics, Dr. Budhadeb Gomango – Medicine Specialist, Dr, Manish Kanti – Dental, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Behera from CHC, Lanjigarh, Dr. Goutam Jena from Vedanta Hospital along with Dr. Akshya Sahoo – Chief Medical Officer, Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh were present to attend to the patients.
Mr. Jalaj Malpani – Chief Finance Officer along with Mr. Philip Campbell – Technical Director, Vedanta Limited Lanjigarh inaugurated the health camp in presence of Mr Chandradhwaj Pesnia, Ms Mani Majhi – Sarpanch Lanjigarh, Mrs. Harmeet Sehra – Chief Community Development Officer and Mr. Shivanand Mohanty – Head Public Relations and Corporate Communications, Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh. According to Mr. Jalaj Malpani “Better health services are necessary for the community in the region and the company is putting all its effort to provide the same efficiently”.
Along with treatment and distribution of medicines, special awareness drive was also made on different diseases. Mr. Iqbal Hussain and Mr. Amar Kumar Mohanty from PVO, a non-profit organization taking care of operation and maintenance of Vedanta Hospital situated at Lanjigarh, successfully coordinated the health camp in partnership with Vedanta Lanjigarh CSR team.
