Bhopal : Under the Deendayal Upadhyaya National Urban Livelihood Mission, loan of Rs. 20 crore 75 lakh has been made available to 1743 Women Self-Help Groups for self-employment by linking them with various financial institutions. Till date, as many as 25 thousand 478 Self-Help Groups have already been formed in 120 urban bodies of 52 districts of the state.
The Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Shri P. Narhari has informed that 3308 Self-Help Groups have been formed in the year 2019-20. Out of these, 2377 groups have been given a recurring fund of Rs. 2 crore 37 lakh in ratio of Rs 10 thousand per group. The difference amount of prevailing interest rate above 7 percent rate on loans received by the groups is being deposited in the form of interest grant every month through Online PAISA portal in the account of self-help groups. About Rs. 10 lakh are being directly transferred in the accounts of groups every month.
The amount being provided to the groups helps women in boosting self-employment. The market is also made available for the sale of finished products prepared by these groups. The work of preparing masks to prevent corona infection has also been given to these women self-help groups under the Jeevan Shakti Yojana.
