Angul : Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) celebrated Shri Om Prakash Jindal’s 89th Birth Anniversary today with a series of social welfare programmes. Led by Mr. Pankaj Gautam, Chief Operating Officer – Odisha & Mrs. Pratibha Gautam, President, Jindal Mahila Samiti, all the senior officials and employees of JSPL with their family members and people from the local community paid homage to the visionary and founder of O.P Jindal Group, respectfully called as Bauji by one and all.
To mark this occasion, JSPL Foundation organised a blood donation camp in association with Odisha Blood Bank, Angul, inaugurated by Mr. Pankaj Gautam, in presence of Mr. Suresh Kumar, Executive Director – Maintenance; Mr. Damodar Mittal, President – Iron Making Zone; Brig. K.K. Chopra; Mr. S.K. Sharma, VP-CSR&R; Mr. Alok Malhotra, Head (HR&ES); Dr. Krushna Prasad Behera, CMO, OHC,JSPL; Swami Satyabindu Saraswati and other officials of the Company. Total 124 units of blood were collected in this camp.
Mr. Pankaj Gautam also flagged off a 26-seater School Bus, which was contributed by JSPL Foundation for education of the children of Adruta Children Home.
On the occasion, O.P. Jindal Angul Cup Football tournament, organised by JSPL Foundation, was also inaugurated at Angul Stadium by Mr. Tapan Kumar Satpathy, ADM-Angul, in presence of Mr. Akhaya Setha, District Sports Officer, Angul; Mr. Nilamani Rout, Secretary of Angul Sub Division Athletic Association; Mr. S.K. Sharma and Mrs. Puspalata Satapathy, GM-CSR of JSPL. Total 12 teams from different parts of Odisha are participating in this state level football tournament.
A Bhajan Sandhya was also organised at the Devbhoomi Temple as part of the celebration.
Similarly, the staff members and students of O. P. Jindal School, Jindal Nagar; OPJCC, Angul and DAV-Savitri Jindal School situated at Badamahitala R&R colony also paid their homage to Bauji by performing a Havan, Plantation, Swachhata Rally and Drawing Portrait of Shri O.P. Jindal Ji.
At Bhubaneswar, all the staff members led by Mr. Prashant Kumar Hota, EVP & Group Head (CSR & Sustainability) paid their respect to the revered soul. The Company also distributed sweets among students of School for the Deaf and Dumb at Palaspalli in the City.
