Kendrapara: Indefinite curfew continues to remain in force in Kendrapara district today as Rashtriya Surakhya Manch observes a 12-hour bandh protesting a dispute between two communities yesterday; schools, colleges and business establishments closed .
Despite the deployment of police forces, two groups managed to pelt stones at each other near Kali Mandir Chhak. However, the situation was brought under control by the police.
The district administration was forced to impose Section 144 (curfew) in Kendrapara town due to deteriorating law and order situation. The curfew will continue till 8 am,” the sub-collector said, adding that 11 platoons of police forces have been deployed in sensitive points in order to maintain law and order.
