New Delhi: Odisha State Handloom Weavers Coop. Society Ltd. popularly known as BOYANIKA, an Apex Society of the State is organizing the “Exhibition-cum-Sale in the premises of Odisha Bhawan, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi from 18/05/2018 to 17/06/2018.
The Special Handloom Expo is organized with an objective to popularize and promote sale of different handloom products of the State being made by different communities in diverse regions in the State.
There are unique products on display from different districts of the State with a wide collection of Sonepuri, Bomkai, Sambalpuri, Kotpad, Tassar, Dongria and Khandua sarees and other products. Besides, there are ready to wear garments and home linen collection etc. The art of Handloom weaving is highly evolved and the fabrics bear testimony to the unique artistic ability and legacy of the master weavers of the State.
During recent years, a number of steps have been taken by Government to fulfill the social and economic commitment towards weavers of Odisha for their sustainable livelihood by providing marketing support in organizing Exhibitions/Expos. In order to create a brand image of Odisha Handwovens, special exhibition-cum-sales are organised by BOYANIKA in different metros like Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad and New Delhi. Every year this exhibition is organised twice at New Delhi.
To-day i.e. on 17/05/2018 at 3.30 P.M, the Exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Vipin Saxena, IAS, Principal Resident Commissioner in presence of Shri Sanjeeb K. Mishra, IAS, Resident Commissioner, Ms. Shubha Sarma , IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Textiles & Handloom Department, other senior officials and eminent Odiyas from Delhi/ NCR at Odisha Bhawan, 1-Niti Marg, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
The exhibition will remain open from 11.00 A.M to 9.00 P.M on all days and special Govt. rebate of 10%+20 % is being given to the valued customer on purchase of every handloom product.
BOYANIKA has released advertisements in leading newspapers and will send about 5 lakh SMS to potential buyers in Delhi/NCR and will continue to explore new avenues of marketing during coming years with the valuable suggestions and feedback of esteemed customers and other stakeholders.
