Damodar Rout announced formation of a new party called Biju Samata Kranti Dal

Bhubaneswar: Paradip MLA and expelled Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Damodar Rout on Friday announced formation of a new party called ‘Biju Samata Kranti Dal’.

Announcing the party’s formation a Press conference here, Rout severely criticised the BJD Government. “While the ruling party has become corrupt, the Biju Samata Kranti Dal wikll preserve and promote the ideologies and principles of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik,” Rout said.

Among others, former MP and founder of Samata Kranti Dal Braja Kishore Tripathy and Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM) chief Jagneswar Babu were present at the Press meet.

Rout was expelled from the BJD on September 12 for his alleged anti-party activities. He was accused of making statements against the Government by alleging irregularities in sapling plantation, procurement of polythene sheets for the Orissa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation and in cooperative banks and the health sector.
