Bhubaneswar: Severe cyclone FANI has affected 14 districts of our state. It has damaged the infrastructure of Government Engineering Schools/ Polytechnics and Government Engineering Colleges.
22 Government ITIs, 18 Government Polytechnics and Engineering Schools, 04 Government Engineering/ Management Colleges, 01 Directorate of Employment, 01 District Employment Exchange and 5 Skill Development Centres, have been affected by Cyclone “FANI”. Total 51 technical institutions have been damaged.
For the restoration of these infrastructure a sum of Rs.30 crores 57 lakh is required. Directorate of Employment requires 50 lakhs, District Employment Exchange, Jagatsinghpur-10 lakhs, Skill Development Centres (Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Kendrapara, Puri, Begunia)- 50 Lakhs. For restoration of 22 Government
ITIs ( Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Puri) a sum of
rupees 25 crore 67 lakh is required. A sum of Rs. 3 crore 45 lakhs is required for restoration of 4 nos. of Government Engineering Colleges in Khrodha-2, Cuttack-1 and Ganjam-1. As on today 633 ITI trainees have visited 25000 households in Bhubaneswar & Cuttack areas to help installation of electricity and water supply.
