CESU CEO Inaugurated The Safety Manual & Hand Book For Employees

 

Bhubaneswar: CESU CEO Md Sadique Alam inaguraed the safety manual and Handbook for their employees on National Science Day in a function at CESU head office . Electricity employees are working in lines, sub-stations and electrical installations to provide 24×7 service to its esteemed consumers. In spite of regular maintenance of the installations , some times employee as well as public are facing electrical accidents due to unauthorized interference with line network and violation of safety provisions by public and non-adherence to Safety Operating Procedure (SOP) and snapping of conductor etc. CESU Safety Manual covers the major provisions of Central Electricity Authority (measures relating to safety & electricity supply ) Regulations,2010 as amended up to 2015 and Central Electricity Authority ( Safety requirements for construction , operation and maintenance of Electrical plants & electric lines ) Regulations , 2011 . This book will guide the officers and employees of CESU to create safe environment at every place of work both for public and for themselves. The CEO has advised to use safety helmet, safety gloves and earth discharge rod during any maintenance work and also during customers services to avoid electrical accident. The Chief Safety Officer Sri Nilambar Jena told about the important of electrical safety in day to day life of CESU employees. CESU HRD Head Sri Subrat Kumar Mishra expressed his pleasure for having this Safety Manual and Handbook in the organization which is the compendium of electrical safety. Although the number of electrical accident is reducing from 102 in 2016 to 60 in 2018, the use of this Safety Manual & Handbook will give good result by making the CESU no accident DISCOM. All the Senior Officials of Technical, Finance, HR, PR & Commerce have praised the good initiative of CESU Safety Cell by preparing these books for employees and the guidelines depicted in this manual will definitely enable and empower the human talent in electrical sector to build a safe work place that would save lives , properties and environment.
