The Centre has notified that any mention of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act in any Act, Ordinance, regulation, or notification will now be interpreted as referring to the BNS (Bharat New Standards), BNSS (Bharat New Standards of Criminal Procedure), and BSA (Bharat Standards of Evidence), respectively.
