Bhubaneswar: Amid the reverberation of the rhythms and rhymes of Naval Band and Music (Jay Bharatee), Navy Day has been celebrated under the auspices of Veterans Club Odisha in the premises of Hotel “By the Way” in Bhubaneswar. Veteran Samarendra Parija has welcomed and greeted all the guests on the occasion of Navy Day. Veteran Janaki Prasad Pattnaik has enlightened about the history and antiquity of Navy Day Celebration and the momentousness and value of Indian Navy in the present prevailing national as well as international scenario. Veteran Group Captain Jagadananda Brahma graced the occasion and addressed the veterans of tri-service. He has recounted his own experiences and reminiscence of his involvement during Indo-Pak war-1971. On this occasion of rejoice, Veteran Nitai Gour Dhal greeted all the veterans and their family and enlightened the gathering about the future aspects of establishing War Memorial and War Museum being planned by Veterans Club Odisha. He also requested the help and co-operation of Odisha government in bringing the “Dacota” air craft which was flown by the proud son of Odisha, “Biju Babu” and is now waiting helplessly to be sold in scrap value in Kolkata International Airport, to the planned War Museum to be established by VCO. Veteran Bidyadhar Nayak, President, VCO called upon all the veterans to take salient and important roles in the progress and development of the State as well as the Nation. Veteran Gopinath Mishra thanked all the veterans for their hearty cooperation and making the celebration a grand success. Amongst all the distinguished , Veteran Rabindra Kumar Sahoo, Sena Medal, Captain Rabindra Kumar Pattnaik, Captain Manmath Kumar Singh, Haraparasad Dora, Mrutyunjay Mahapatra, Shesadev Mishra, Bibhuprasad Swain, Bishnuprasad Dash, Baikuntha Prasad Tripathy, Antarjyaami Dash, Deenabandhu Shadhani, Niranjan Ransingh were present in the event.
