Kaniha: Rural Cultural Meet 2016-17 was organized by NTPC Talcher Kaniha under its CSR initiative on November 12 ,2017.
The meet was inaugurated by Shri Ram Kuber ,Executive Director, Talcher Kaniha with lighting of lamps in presence of Shri N S Rao ,GM(TS),Shri P K Sahu ,DGM(HR) and representatives of union and associations.
Shri Kuber Executive Director, Talcher Kaniha addressing the august gathering said” this unique event organized by NTPC Kaniha provides a platform to school children to display their untapped talent and show their skills” Speaking further, he added that the programme is a small initiative towards promotion of inherent quality & skill to build confidence among the school children. He appreciated the CSR dept. for organizing such event.
450 rural students involving 35 schools of nearby villagers participated in the rural cultural meet. This is the seventh year; NTPC Talcher Kaniha had organized such meet.
In senior category,Derang High School was declared the best performing group and in junior category Badahira New UPS and sub-junior category Rangabeda PS were the winners respectively. Shri S S Routray,Miss Mousmi Das & Smt Puspanji Misra were the judges of the rural cultural meet.
Prizes and trophies were distributed to the winners at the closing ceremony of the Cultural Meet by Shri N S Rao ,GM(TS) & Shri Anil Jana GM(FM) & Shri K S Sarma, AGM(HR),Talcher Kaniha.Senior officials of the power station , headmasters , teachers and school children were present in very large numbers on the occasion.
